How do I create a colour palette for my business?

Start with an existing brand colour, upload your logo or photo, or generate a fresh palette. Lock colours you want to keep, refine the others, then use Build my brand to assign colour roles and check your website and marketing previews.

Can I generate a colour palette from an image?

Yes. Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 15 MB. The tool extracts dominant colours locally on your device and ignores transparent areas. You can also sample a point in the image. Your image is not uploaded or included in shared links.

Is this colour palette generator free?

Yes. Generate, edit, compare, save on your device and download your palette without an account or email address. Contacting BMAD about a website is optional.

Can I keep my exact brand colour?

Yes. Enter a HEX, RGB or HSL colour and lock it. Generation, presets and bulk adjustments keep locked colours unchanged. Dark-mode previews show derived shades separately, while preserving the original palette.

How do the accessibility checks work?

The tool calculates WCAG 2.2 text contrast for the selected foreground and background pairs. It shows separate AA and AAA results for normal and large text. You can review a suggested alternative before applying it. These pair checks do not certify the accessibility of a complete website.

How can I save, share or download my palette?

Save favourites on this device, copy a shareable palette link, download a PNG or SVG guide, or use Print / Save PDF. Advanced exports include HEX, RGB, HSL, CSS variables, JSON and Tailwind CSS v4 theme variables. Shared links contain colours and role assignments, not your image or business name.
